Cabo Pulmo day trip

___________________________________________________________________________

For diving in Cabo Pulmo Marine Reserve:

2 tank dive - 150 USD per diver

This includes two tank dive, weights, marine park pass, guide and refreshment on the boat

(no hidden costs)

Equipment rental - 25 USD per day

BCD, regulator, mask, fins, wetsuit

When booking a two tank tour in Cabo Pulmo, this is how we organize the day.

We meet the divers at 8.45am in Cabo Pulmo, usually at El Caballero Restaurant if you drive from Los Cabos or La Paz. You will have time to take a coffee and we can start to discuss the dive plans for the day. From there, we go to the beach (500 meters distance) where we have the boat, and access to bathrooms and showers.

You meet the dive guide and the boat captain and try your rental equipment. When all the divers are ready with their equipment checked and on the boat, you will be given a dive briefing.

After the briefing, you will walk to the beach, pass by the Marine Reserve Ranger Station and board the boat (200 meter walk). Dive sites are close to the beach, 10/15 minutes boat ride in average.

After the first dive, you will spend the 45 minute surface interval on the boat: The whole tour lasts three hours approximately  from when you board the boat to your return to the beach.

What to bring:

Sunglasses and hat

Sun lotion (preferrably biodegradable)

Long sleeve shirt

Cash for local expenses (restaurants / gift shops, etc..)

Beach towel

Dive certification card

There is a cooler on the boat with water and cookies.

There are approximately 12 dive sites to choose from in Cabo Pulmo. Most of them average 50/60 feet depth and the currents are usually mild.

Water temperature varies a lot year round: Warmer water would occur from August to December ( 78 / 82 degrees Farenheit - 27/29 degrees Celsius - 3mm wetsuit or shorty).

The rest of the year is much chillier (65 / 72 degrees Farenheit - 18/ 22 degrees Celsius - 7mm wetsuit)

Visibility is quite unpredictible but the year average would be 40/50 feet, considering better months when the water is warmer.

There are sites for all levels of divers in the Marine Reserve, but mostly, dive conditions in Cabo Pulmo are fairly easy.
